Celestine obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from Nanyang Technological University and completed her Master of Social Science (Professional Counselling) with Swinburne University of Technology. She is a Registered Counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling. Celestine is also a certified Brainspotting practitioner with Brainspotting Trainings LLC as well as an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist. Celestine started working in the mental health and social service sector since 2013. With more than 10 years of clinical experience, Celestine has had the privilege of journeying with numerous clients presenting with different struggles.
Celestine is a trauma-informed psychotherapist who has extensive experience in utilizing brain-based and body-based therapeutic approaches like Attachment-focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (AF-EMDR), Brainspotting and Parts Work to help her clients work through and heal from their difficult and traumatic experiences. She is also an integrative psychotherapist who is trained in various therapeutic modalities like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Polyvagal Theory, and Motivational Interviewing. Additionally, Celestine also has a keen interest in empowering clients with skills to regulate their nervous systems which can increase their capacity to cope in the face of life’s inevitable challenges.
Understanding that it takes a lot of courage for individuals to seek therapeutic support, Celestine hopes to provide a compassionate and safe space for her clients as they work through their struggles. Through journeying with and holding space for her clients, Celestine hopes to facilitate their connection with themselves and their emotional wounding while helping them access their inherent capacity to heal. She strongly believes that emotional woundings and struggles are part of the human condition and that we can go on to lead purposeful lives and form meaningful relationships despite our painful past and experiences.
Celestine has worked in a variety of clinical settings like a local hospital, a community counselling centre, local universities as well as in private practices. She is very experienced in supporting clients through these issues:
- Childhood and Developmental Trauma (e.g. physical/emotional/sexual abuse, neglect)
- Attachment Wounds or Injuries
- Complex Trauma
- Single Incident Trauma (e.g. accidents, natural disasters, medical trauma, pregnancy or childbirth trauma)

- Self-worth or Self-esteem Issues (e.g. feelings of inadequacy or unworthiness, people-pleasing tendencies, difficulties establishing boundaries or asserting oneself)
- Grief and Loss
- Addiction or Dependence
- Workplace Stress
- Relationship/ Interpersonal Issues (e.g. recurring patterns in relationships, difficulties establishing connection, activation of attachment woundings)
Celestine also has extensive experience conducting mental health talks and trainings. She has conducted workshops on topics relating to Mental Health Support, Peer Support, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion and Self-Care. Passionate about suicide prevention work, Celestine became a certified safeTALK (suicide alertness training programme) trainer with LivingWorks Education in 2016 and has equipped many individuals with suicide alertness skills since. Celestine is also a Registered Circle of Security ParentingTM Facilitator who believes in the importance of supporting parents in raising secure and well-adjusted children.
